FutureNOW is a new initiative for ACEC/PA geared towards early-career engineers with 15 years or less of experience. This is an opportunity for our next generation of engineering leaders to network with peers of their own experience level and learn from leaders in our industry.
From Rail Hub to Neighborhood: Exploring the 30th Street District
Step inside one of Philadelphia’s most iconic gateways, William H Gray III 30th Street Station, and discover how a historic rail hub is evolving into a vibrant, connected neighborhood. Once simply a place to pass through, this district is being reimagined as a destination in its own right, where transportation, community, and design meet.
On this immersive 60-minute tour, you’ll walk the station and surrounding district alongside leaders from Amtrak, SEPTA, and Brandywine Realty Trust. Along the way, you’ll hear the story behind the transformation; how one of the nation’s busiest rail centers is becoming a model for connectivity, and placemaking.
Expect a behind-the-scenes look at what’s already taking shape, an honest conversation about the challenges of long-term implementation, and a glimpse into the future as the vision unfolds.
This isn’t just a tour of a station. It’s a walk through the future of Philadelphia.
Meet at the Angel Statue within the main Amtrak concourse at 2:30pm
• PPE required: hard hat, orange reflective safety vest, safety boots, and glasses.
Following the tour, we will meet at The Post one block away for a two hour social and a chance for everyone to network and mingle together. Food and drinks are included with your registration. This is optional and not required as it is an additional fee.
We hope you’ll join us for this behind‑the‑scenes look at a landmark project for the region. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
For questions, please contact Sarah Babski at sbabski@acecpa.org.
