President's Message
The Diamond Awards Banquet was held February 4, 2010, at The Hotel Hershey, and what a spectacular event it was. About 265 guests registered for the event, which I understand is a record, and this occurred while we are experiencing an economic downturn.
At our Board of Directors meeting last June, I asked Judy Hricak, Awards Committee chairperson, to “spice up” the event, and she delivered. The Awards Committee recruited Ronald Drnevich, PE, senior executive vice president and vice chairman of the board, Capital BlueCross, to MC the award presentation—Ron not only did a great job, but he certainly “spiced it up.” I extend an enormous thank-you to Ron, Judy, and the Awards Committee for a terrific job.

ACEC/PA Adopts Strategic Goals
After a year long process that began with our member survey in 2008, the ACEC/PA Board of Directors adopted strategic goals at their February 4th meeting. These goals are the the result of hours of hard work from board members and committee chairs.
These goals will serve to guide the actions of the council for the next four years, but will be subject to review and updating.
ACEC/PA Updated Its Position Papers for the 2010 Elections
We will be meeting with major gubernatorial campaigns to deliver the papers and discuss issues important to ACEC/PA members. In addition, we will be sending the papers to candidates for the PA General Assembly. We encourage members to discuss the positions with their local candidates.
