Applications for Membership

Member Firm
Application

A member firm shall be
an independent firm engaged in the private practice of engineering or land surveying; and maintain and have established offices for the private practice of engineering, land surveying or architecture and engineering, provided the engineering practice of an a/e firm represents no less than 25% of the total practice, and the firm operates as a sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporation, provided the engineering activities are controlled by individuals or officers who are licensed professional engineers or the land surveying activities are controlled by individuals or officers who are licensed professional land surveyors under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and have no commercial, sales or contract interests or other affiliations which cause a conflict of interest with an independent practice of engineering or land surveying.
ACEC Membership
Member firms are automatically (and must be) members of the American Council of Engineering Companies, provided that all rights or obligations of such membership shall be exercised only through ACEC/PA.

Associate Member Firm

An Associate Member Firm shall be
an independent firm engaged in private practice to provide professional services of a scientific and technical nature that are complementary to the services provided by Member Firms; and not include firms eligible for membership in the Association as a Member Firm.

Affiliate Member Firm

An Affiliate Member Firm shall be
limited to those sole proprietors, firms, parent firms, branch offices, divisions, subsidiaries, and/or organizations that support the goals of ACEC/PA and provide professional services used in the internal operation (but not specified by) Member Firms or Associate Member Firms and not be eligible for ACEC/PA membership as a “Member Firm”  or "Associate Member Firm" and shall not be eligible to vote on ACEC/PA business, hold office in ACEC/PA nor serve as chair of a ACEC/PA committee.

Supplier Member Firm

A Supplier Member Firm shall be
limited to those sole proprietors, firms, parent firms, branch offices, divisions, subsidiaries, and/or organizations that support the goals of ACEC/PA and provide products used in the internal operation (but not specified by) Member Firms or Associate Member Firms. and not be eligible for ACEC/PA membership as a “Member Firm” or "Associate Member Firm" and shall not be eligible to vote on ACEC/PA business, hold office in ACEC/PA nor serve as chair of a ACEC/PA committee.
